Frequently Asked Questions
What is Mobility Cost Optimization?
Optimization ensures that you pay the least amount possible each and every billing cycle. A major way this is accomplished is by proactively aligning your actual mobile voice and data usage with the most appropriate available rate plans. We analyze real-time usage feeds from service providers for each line in service, as well as data from your internally-used systems (travel, HR, service management) to determine the best plan and feature mix within that billing cycle. For example, when data from your corporate travel system tells up about an employee's upcoming trip out of the country, we'll enable international calling on the employee's device upon arrival, and deactivate it on the departure date, ensuring that you only pay for capabilities when they are required.
Why can’t I optimize on my own?
You can try, but it’s a lot of work and you will need specialized tools and systems, on top of expertise, to be effective. You would have to first gather the data, then analyze it, then determine appropriate service changes, and then submit and track the service change orders. And you would have to do this every day. Without access to real-time billing feeds, this process becomes reactive (after billing cycle) rather than proactive (within billing cycle), and without automation it becomes highly manual, inefficient and very time consuming. Other tools, such as vMOX’s proprietary carrier rate database, are necessary to ensure that users are aligned with the best plans at all times, enabling clients to see every last penny of savings.
What is Mobility Lifecycle Management?
This refers to all activities around the management of your corporate mobility program, including cost management, device procurement, activations, upgrades and deactivations, day-to-day carrier interactions like orders and trouble tickets, and all reporting and analytics. It also includes projects like carrier contact negotiations and developing, updating and enforcing corporate mobility policies and guidelines.
What if we already utilize a third-party Wireless Expense Management (WEM) or Telecom Expense Management (TEM) service?
We will work together with your team and/or vendors to maximize results. vMOX is not a WEM or a TEM. We don’t just manage expenses, we significant lower them and simplify all lifecycle management activities at the same time. We guarantee that our patent-pending, algorithm-driven technology and automated processes will deliver additional savings on top of what your WEM, TEM or internal team finds.
Do I have to switch service providers?
No. All of vMOX’s work is done behind the scenes. Your carriers, devices and phone numbers will remain the same, and your end users will see no change in their services. However, if you have a desire to move away from a specific service provider, we will do the legwork to find the one that best meets your needs and we will fully manage the transition.
What happens to my existing service provider account team?
Whatever you want. If you are happy with you present carrier account team you can continue to work with them as you always have. If you'd rather not deal with them, we can handle all interaction on your behalf. Or if you prefer a hybrid arrangement where you handle certain tasks and we handle others, we can do that as well. The choice is yours.
Will the way I pay my monthly service provider bill change?
No. You will continue to be invoiced by your provider the same way you always have been. The payment process also remains exactly the same….only your bill will now be significantly lower!
We just signed a new agreement with our provider, so am I locked in to those rates?
No. All mobility providers allow for modifications to billing plans irrespective of the agreement. So if we know of better rate plans that are available, we can move you to them. Since vMOX also finds saving by better aligning your users with your rate plans, we will deliver savings regardless of if you are under a service agreement or if your agreement has expired.
We are part of a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) or receive Government pricing that provides the lowest rates possible. How can you find savings?
Our optimization technology works on all rate plans, regardless of how they were negotiated. We’ve been very successful uncovering savings opportunities for clients who are under a GPO, like National Pricing Partners, and government, like GSA and FSSI, specialty agreements since they unlock unpublished and additional plans and features that our advanced toolset can leverage for the clients benefit.
How does VMOX’s portal differ from service provider portals?
The level of integration and automation that is built into the vMOX portal, combined with our patent pending optimization technology, makes it stand out in the industry. API’s with carrier (i.e. AT&T, VZ, Sprint, etc.), travel (i.e. Concur), human resources (i.e. Workday), service management (i.e. ServiceNow), financial (i.e. SAP), procurement (i.e.Ariba), and security (i.e. Okta) platforms create a client-specific mobility ecosystem enabling proactive management and optimization. The portal's reporting functionality offers enterprise-level analytics down to the individual line level, with easy to understand charts and graphs, regardless of service provider or location.
We’ve tried other solutions to better manage our mobility, but our employees are too busy to get value out of them. Why is this different?
It’s a managed service and we take on all of the heavy lifting. The vMOX approach is based on “doing” rather than “enabling,” so we handle all of the discovery, validation, analysis, impact and benefits calculations, implementation with providers, tracking, reporting and much more, so you don’t have to. And we also handle day-to-day tasks like device management and procurement, MACD and reporting.
